Health Requirements to Attend School
Immunization Requirements
Iowa law requires all students to show proof of adequate immunization prior to attending school.

Action/Emergency Plans & Medication
Please notify the nurse if your student has a condition that requires emergency medication.
If your student's provider has completed an Emergency Action Plan, please ensure the nurse has a copy of the plan along with the emergency medication to have available at school.

Illness
Children will be sent home from school or should be kept home from school for any of the following:
Fever (temperature of 100 or higher)
May return after being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication
Vomiting or diarrhea
May return after 24 hours have past from the last vomit or diarrhea episode
Skin eruptions or suspicious rash
May return after medical treatment and able to cover the area with bandages
Contagious diseases
May return per doctor's note or after antibiotic use for 24 hours
COVID-19 symptom screen and return-to-school criteria based upon Iowa Department of Public Health guidelines
