Forest City Board of Education

Special Meeting - February 1, 2010


The Board of Directors of the Forest City Community School District met for a special meeting on February 1, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the District Office.


After a quorum was established the meeting was called to order by the president, Dave Bartlett.


Members present: Dave Bartlett, Cindy Carter, Susan Shaw, Gary Ludwig, Sandra Lillquist, Keila Buffington. Members absent: Julie Farland.


Dave Bartlett welcomed the guests.


Keila Buffington moved to approve the agenda. Susan Shaw seconded the motion. Ayes: six. Nayes: none. Carried.


Julie Farland arrived at 12:07 P.M.


Dwight Widen updated the Board on the continuing process and meetings of the Woden-Crystal Lake/Titonka Boards and Community.


Sup’t Lehmann reviewed with the Board the number of snow days we have incurred at Forest City Community School for the 2009-2010 school year and possible options for making up the days. After discussion, Sandra Lillquist moved to add thirty minutes to the school day starting February 8, 2010 through the end of the school year making up six snow days. April 5, 2010 originally scheduled as Teacher Quality Professional Development will now be a student day. Both changes are pending an agreement with the Forest City Education Association. Julie Farland seconded the motion. Ayes: seven. Nayes: none. Carried.


Cindy Carter moved to adjourn the meeting. Kiela Buffington seconded the motion. Ayes: seven. Nayes: none. Carried.


The meeting adjourned at 12:37 P.M.
